About the role#
As a Civil Engineer Intern, you will support water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will work alongside project teams to turn ideas into solutions and gain hands-on experience in engineering design and construction. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Read and apply departmental design guides, engineering codes, and internal policies.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support the design and construction of infrastructure projects.
- Perform research and provide recommendations for equipment and material selection.
- Prepare basic engineering calculations using standard methods.
- Assist with the development of project schedules, cost estimates, and engineering deliverables.
- Develop your skills with engineering software, design tools, and digital delivery methods.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited university in a Civil Engineering program.
- Basic knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides.
- Basic knowledge of construction and constructability practices.
- Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, which may include background checks and drug screens.
- Coursework in water, wastewater, hydraulics, or fluid mechanics is preferred.
