About the role#
The Substance Use Recovery Internship at the New View program supports female-identified patients who have been civilly committed to a substance use disorder treatment facility. This role provides exposure to acute treatment services and clinical stabilization services in Greenfield, Massachusetts. The internship is unpaid and designed for college credit, typically totaling 300 hours depending on your program requirements.
What you'll do#
- Conduct intakes and assessments for individuals served.
- Complete clinical documentation notes.
- Provide counseling in one-on-one sessions and group settings.
- Support individuals with harm reduction strategies.
- Assist with aftercare planning and referrals for available community services.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Associate, Bachelor, or Master program in a related field such as Psychology, Public Health, Human Resources, Nursing, or Sociology.
- Reliable transportation to Greenfield, MA and Springfield, MA.
- Experience with clinical documentation.
- Knowledge of harm reduction strategies.
