About the role#
Sound offers unpaid internships for graduate students looking to gain clinical experience in the East region of the Greater Seattle area. You will work within our adult and child-family service programs to provide recovery-oriented, evidence-based care. This role involves shadowing experienced clinicians and taking on direct client responsibilities to build your counseling skills.
What you'll do#
- Provide individual and group counseling for adults and children.
- Perform case management, medication management, and crisis stabilization.
- Deliver integrated treatment for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Offer recovery, health, and wellness support.
- Engage in family therapy, advocacy, and parent education.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including medical providers and community partners.
- Shadow clinicians to observe various roles and treatment approaches.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master-level graduate program.
- A commitment of at least four quarters or two semesters.
- Availability for 20-24 hours per week on a stable, reliable schedule.
- Coordination with your supervisor for any time off during school vacations.

- Locations: Bellevue, Redmond, and Snoqualmie, Washington.
- Modality: On-site.
- Terms: Winter 2027 and Fall 2027.
