About the role#
As a State and Local Tax Intern, you will research and analyze tax issues while working alongside experienced tax professionals. You will gain hands-on experience with tax laws and firm practices while building relationships within the team. This position is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the preparation, filing, and completion of voluntary disclosure agreements for sales and use tax, income tax, and unclaimed property.
- Draft tax memoranda and other documents regarding various tax issues.
- Assist in drafting responses to notices from state taxing authorities.
- Prepare models for tax and unclaimed property exposure analysis.
- Utilize tax-related software to complete basic tax returns.
- Monitor tax law changes and apply them to assigned returns.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a relevant field, or enrollment in a Juris Doctorate or Master of Laws program.
- Basic knowledge of accounting and tax theory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to research taxation topics and compose written analysis.
- Ability to multi-task while working independently or as part of a team.

- Compensation: The pay range for this role in Ohio is $33.00 to $37.00 per hour.
