About the role#
Teaching Assistants support faculty within the Department of Economics at Baylor University. This role involves assisting with academic support tasks, including grading, tutoring, and general class assistance. You will interact directly with faculty and students to provide support for various economics courses.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate student work, including assignments with complex or open-ended questions based on established rubrics.
- Proctor exams and assist with general class operations.
- Create educational or training materials and assist in developing departmental processes.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and confidential environment for all students and faculty.
- Provide customer service by answering questions and resolving concerns.
- Coordinate educational sessions, workshops, or webinars as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student, ideally within Economics or Business Administration.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Willingness to learn and improve software skills.
- Commitment to maintaining regular, punctual attendance and complying with all university policies.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
