About the role#
As a Product Validation Engineer Co-Op, you will work with the New Product Development and Engineering teams. This role focuses on evaluating the performance, reliability, and safety of marine vessels and components. You will gain hands-on experience by conducting tests, analyzing data, and supporting product improvement projects.
What you'll do#
- Create and run test plans to check product performance, durability, and regulatory compliance.
- Set up instrumentation, fixtures, and test rigs for evaluations.
- Gather and analyze test data to help the engineering team make informed decisions.
- Work alongside Product Engineers, Design Engineers, and Technicians to fix product issues.
- Assist with prototype builds and document results to help improve products.
- Maintain compliance with ASTM, ISO, ABYC, and internal testing standards.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a four-year degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Marine Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution. Junior or Senior standing is preferred.
- Experience with testing methods, data acquisition systems, and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with material properties, structural testing, and mechanical systems.
- Hands-on experience using common shop tools and test equipment.
- Ability to analyze data and write clear, concise reports.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, along with independent problem-solving abilities.
Location & details#
- Location: Springfield, Missouri.
- This is a full-time, on-site, paid position.
- Some travel is required to visit manufacturing plants, supplier sites, and on-water test locations.
- You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
