About the role#
As a CAD Technician Co-Op, you will join projects spanning the full product development process from early concepts to final prototypes. You will gain experience in 3D modeling, technical drawings, component packaging, and feasibility studies. At the end of your 10-week program, you will present your work to the product development team.
What you'll do#
- Develop Class-A CAD surfaces and digital upholstery patterns.
- Create 3D product assemblies and tooling models, including draft analysis and GD&T.
- Package sub-components like rigging, electronics, live wells, and lighting.
- Create models for CNC milling and concept mockups.
- Develop product build books and 2D manufacturing specification drawings.
- Generate critical section drawings for design and phase gate reviews.
- Work with suppliers to package purchased components.
- Participate in on-water boating experiences.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status in a college degree program.
- An Associates degree in Computer Aided Design is the minimum requirement. A Bachelors degree in Design Engineering, Transportation Design, or Product Design is preferred.
- Proficiency in Catia CAD software.
- Ability to think in three dimensions and turn sketches into 3D models.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes for aluminum, composite, and roto-molded materials.
- Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site role based in Springfield, Missouri, at the Tracker Marine Base Camp.
- The program runs on a rolling basis.
