About the role#
This summer internship provides hands-on experience in construction management. You will work on-site at various project locations, assisting with the administration and coordination of construction projects. The role focuses on ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. When not at a project site, you will work from the headquarters in Bismarck, North Dakota.
What you'll do#
- Shadow a Construction Coordinator to learn job site oversight.
- Coordinate activities between the owner, engineer, contractor, and other project partners.
- Monitor contractor work practices and report any non-compliant activities to the project lead.
- Assist with the execution of Request for Information (RFI) and Change Order Request (COR) processes.
- Review contractor reports regarding safety, quality, progress, and cost.
- Attend project meetings to track achievements and deficiencies.
- Follow all company construction management policies and procedures.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license.
- Enrollment as a full-time student in a two-year construction management program (with at least one year completed) or a four-year program in construction, civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering (with at least two years completed). Recent graduates from these programs within the last 12 months are also eligible.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- A transcript is required at the time of application.
- Previous internship or relevant work experience is preferred.
- Additional certifications or relevant coursework are a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid position based in Bismarck, ND, for the summer of 2027, from May 17 through August 20.
- Continuous travel is required, and project assignments will involve extended overnight stays for several days, weeks, or months.
- You will work in various environments including sites with dust, noise, extreme temperatures, and electrical risks.
