About the role#
Baptist Health is looking for a Radiology Tech Intern to join our team in Homewood, Alabama. You will work under the direct supervision of a preceptor to build your technical and professional skills through observation and hands on practice. This is a paid, part-time position with a rolling term. You may be required to work at any Baptist Health facility, including evenings, overnights, and weekends.
What you'll do#
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures to show anatomy for interpretation.
- Position patients, equipment, and devices while adjusting technical factors.
- Identify, acquire, and document patient history related to procedures.
- Apply radiation safety principles to minimize exposure for yourself and others.
- Develop proficiency in handling contrast material and identifying adverse reactions.
- Assess radiographic images for quality, proper annotation, and accurate identification.
- Use corporate radiology computer systems such as EPIC and PACS.
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked work areas.
- Provide patient transport as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in the senior year of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Pre-approval from your school to participate in this internship.
- Ability to obtain BLS/Healthcare Provider certification within three months of your start date.
- No prior experience is required.
