About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring an intern for our Commercial Lines Underwriting team. This is a full-time, paid summer internship based in Fargo, North Dakota. You will work on-site to learn how we evaluate risk and support our independent agency partners.
What you'll do#
- Learn insurance coverages, contracts, and our internal company philosophy.
- Review company policies, manuals, forms, and endorsements to understand their practical application.
- Analyze the financial conditions, loss history, and physical characteristics of various risks.
- Spend time with different sections of the underwriting department to gain a broad view of our operations.
- Communicate with independent agents and internal staff to support business processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college, entering your junior or senior year.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
- Ability to organize data, manage multiple tasks, and make independent decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to resolve complex issues.
- Interest in building product knowledge through our educational programs.
- Ability to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
