About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring a Claims Representative Intern for Summer 2027. This part-time, paid internship is based on-site in Raleigh, North Carolina. You will work with our team to help individuals and businesses recover after a loss occurs.
What you'll do#
- Investigate claims by gathering facts through phone calls, mail, and on-site visits.
- Determine policy coverage by studying insurance forms, policies, and endorsements.
- Evaluate the amount of loss and analyze legal liability.
- Make decisions to pay or deny losses while ensuring payments are issued accurately and on time.
- Work toward claim resolutions, which may include attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
- Provide service to agents, policyholders, and other involved parties.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college, specifically entering your junior or senior year.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and interpret data to resolve complex issues.
- Capability to handle multiple assignments at once.
- High attention to detail.
