About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring a Claims Representative Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Brentwood, Tennessee. You will work with our team to help individuals and businesses recover after a loss.
What you'll do#
- Investigate claims by gathering facts and determining policy coverage.
- Evaluate the total amount of loss and analyze legal liability to pay or deny claims.
- Study insurance policies, forms, and endorsements to build your knowledge.
- Manage the resolution of claims, which may include attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
- Issue accurate and timely payments to policyholders.
- Conduct investigations through phone calls, mail, and on-site visits.
- Serve the needs of our agents, policyholders, and other involved parties.
What you'll need#
- You are currently enrolled in college and entering your junior or senior year.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Economics, or Criminal Justice.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and interpret data while handling multiple assignments.
- A detail-oriented approach to resolving complex issues.
- You must be able to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
