About the role#
Autism Speaks is seeking an Events Intern for the Fall 2026 term to support development efforts in Western Pennsylvania. This 10-week, paid, remote internship provides practical experience in event planning, including walks, 5k runs, and third-party event support. Interns will gain experience in developing event timelines, managing planning processes, and conducting community outreach under the supervision of the Director of Community Engagement.
What you'll do#
- Assist with event planning logistics throughout Pittsburgh and Western PA.
- Support the planning and outreach efforts for kickoff events.
- Manage outreach and stewardship for donors, sponsors, and volunteers.
- Draft marketing and communications content for email and social media platforms.
- Assist with silent auction donations and in-kind partnership outreach.
- Provide general administrative support and complete assigned tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program with the ability to receive academic credit.
- Availability to work 20 hours per week during standard business hours.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and social media technology.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work effectively within a team.
- Relevant academic background in Business Administration, Communications, or Public Health is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a remote position, though candidates must reside in the Western PA area and have access to transportation for occasional meetings or event attendance.
- This role is a paid, part-time internship.
