About the role#
Autism Speaks is seeking an Events Intern for the Fall 2026 semester. This 10-week, paid, remote internship provides hands-on experience in non-profit special event planning. You will work with the development team to support community events in the Columbus, Ohio area, including walks, 5k runs, summits, and third-party event support. While the role is remote, you must reside in the Central Ohio area and have access to transportation for occasional in-person meetings or events.
What you'll do#
- Assist with event logistics and the planning of kickoff events.
- Conduct outreach and stewardship for donors, sponsors, and volunteers.
- Draft content for email and social media marketing.
- Perform silent auction donation and in-kind partnership outreach.
- Provide administrative support and complete assigned tasks.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
- Eligibility to receive academic credit for the internship.
- Ability to commit to a flexible schedule of 20 hours per week during standard business hours.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and social media technology.
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated initiative.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
