About the role#
Autism Speaks is hiring an Events Intern for the Fall 2026 semester. This 10-week program focuses on event planning and community engagement within the Columbus, Ohio area. You will work with the development team to help plan and execute local events, including walks, 5k runs, and summits. This position provides training and supervision under the Director of Community Engagement.
What you'll do#
- Assist with event logistics and the planning of kickoff events.
- Manage donor, sponsor, and volunteer outreach and stewardship.
- Draft content for email and social media marketing.
- Reach out to partners for silent auction donations and in-kind support.
- Provide administrative support and complete tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program.
- Ability to receive academic credit for this internship.
- Availability to work 20 hours per week during standard business hours.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Location & details#
- This is a remote position, but you must live in the Central Ohio area and have access to transportation for local meetings and events.
- This is a paid internship.
