About the role#
Astranis is hiring a Software Defined Radio Hardware Intern for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, on-site role based in San Francisco. You will join the team for a twelve-week term to work on hardware that supports our satellite missions. This position is open to students currently enrolled at a four-year university.
What you'll do#
- Design, simulate, implement, and test internally developed software defined radio hardware.
- Bring up and debug hardware in the lab using professional instrumentation.
- Write code to evaluate performance and automate testing of satellite hardware.
- Integrate systems into the spacecraft by working with the broader engineering team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering degree program or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to design, build, and test PCBA hardware from scratch through personal projects, design competitions, or student teams.
- A solid foundation in at least one of these areas: analog design, digital design, mixed signal design, or RF design.
- Ability to work on-site in San Francisco.
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
