About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Winter 2027. You will work on-site in San Francisco for twelve weeks. This role is open to students currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program. Please note that this position requires U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or protected individual status to comply with export regulations.
What you'll do#
- Design, simulate, implement, and measure passive and active RF sub-systems at microwave frequencies, such as LNAs, power amplifiers, up/down convertors, filters, and oscillators.
- Integrate these systems into the spacecraft by working with the rest of the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in electrical engineering, physics, applied physics, or a related field.
- Deep knowledge of RF concepts like transmission lines, impedance matching, filter design, and active RF circuits.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and testing RF hardware for microwave frequencies.
- Proficiency with RF simulation tools such as ADS or HFSS.
- Experience taking RF measurements using equipment like spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and network analyzers.
- Interest in hardware development and hands-on design.
- Bonus points for knowledge of antennas and electromagnetics, experience with Software Defined Radios, PCB design skills, or experience automating RF measurements with Python.
