Astranis is seeking a Reliability Design Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in San Francisco. Interns at Astranis contribute to meaningful, real-world projects, with many past interns designing and testing hardware that has been deployed on orbital satellites.
What you'll do#
- Perform reliability analyses on satellite systems.
- Collaborate with the reliability design team to analyze flight hardware.
- Support Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) efforts.
- Develop code to evaluate performance and automate testing of satellite hardware.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or an equivalent technical degree.
- Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test hardware from scratch.
- Experience with Python.
- Interest in designing and working with power electronics systems.
- A passion for hands-on hardware development.
- Experience with SPICE-based simulators (e.g., LTSpice, PSPICE, ADS), agentic AI systems, or standard EE lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters) is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: San Francisco, CA.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Compensation: $29.00 per hour.
- Eligibility: This position requires U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status to comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations.
