About the role#
Astranis is looking for a Production Quality Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in San Francisco. You will join our engineering teams to ensure our satellite production meets high standards of quality and reliability.
What you'll do#
- Develop inspection and verification procedures alongside Design, Production, Quality, and Test engineering teams.
- Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for non-conformance issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and insights for quality improvements.
- Contribute to process and systems development to refine production quality.
- Create dashboards, metrics, and visuals to monitor factory health.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in hardware development and manufacturing systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be available to work on-site 5 days a week.
- U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or protected individual status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
Bonus points if you have:
- Previous internship or coursework experience in a similar role.
- Experience with quality management systems or hardware manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Python, R, or SQL.
- Direct electrical or mechanical design experience.
- Experience debugging hardware and software problems under pressure.

- Pay: $29.00 per hour.
