About the role#
Astranis is hiring a Production Quality Intern for Summer 2027. This is a full-time, on-site position based in San Francisco, California. You will work directly with our engineering teams to improve production quality and factory health.
What you'll do#
- Develop inspection and verification procedures alongside Design, Production, Quality, and Test engineering teams.
- Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address non-conformance issues.
- Collaborate across teams to gather data and insights for continuous quality improvement.
- Develop dashboards, metrics, and visuals to monitor factory health.
- Support the development of systems and processes to improve production quality.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- A passion for hardware development and manufacturing systems.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- You must be able to work on-site 5 days a week.
- Experience with quality management systems or hardware manufacturing is a plus.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL is helpful.
- Direct experience with electrical or mechanical design.
- Ability to debug hardware and software problems under time pressure.

- Location: San Francisco, California (On-site).
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Pay: $29.00 per hour.
- Eligibility: This position requires U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or protected individual status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) to comply with export regulations.
