About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to contribute to satellite development during the Summer 2027 term. You will join the Guidance, Navigation, and Control team to work on satellite software and hardware. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in San Francisco, California. Interns are expected to take on meaningful projects, with many past participants contributing to hardware or software that is deployed to space.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Guidance, Navigation, and Control team to design, build, and test satellite software and hardware.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a B.S. in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Physics, or Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace).
- A focus on control systems, orbital mechanics, or spacecraft design.
- Familiarity with control theory or estimation methods.
- Experience with Python or C/C++.
- A demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test software or hardware from scratch.
- Familiarity with spacecraft design and experience with low thrust trajectories are considered a plus.
- Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) to comply with export regulations.
