About the role#
As a Technical Artist Intern, you will join the Medical Visualization team to assist in creating interactive applications. You will work on art processes, marketing content, and medical education materials. This role focuses on helping surgeons treat patients through visual communication of medical technology. The position is based in Naples, Florida, and requires at least 25 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Explore VR, AR, and other emerging visualization technologies.
- Create and refine materials, shaders, and textures for anatomical models and virtual environments.
- Organize, maintain, and optimize 3D asset and product libraries.
- Evaluate SDKs, plugins, and tools, while documenting findings for the team.
- Develop 3D visualizations of products, environments, and virtual production sets.
- Support automation scripting, content pipelines, and AI-driven asset generation.
- Manage digital assets within Unreal Engine, Unity, and content management systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve simulation and interactive experiences.
What you'll need#
- Status as a college senior or graduate student in 3D Graphics, Interactive Media, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date.
- Proficiency with CAD software.
- Experience with at least two of the following: Unity, Unreal Engine, Autodesk Maya, Visual Studio, Omniverse, Rider, Pixyz, 3ds Max, or 3D graphics development.
- Knowledge of one or more of these areas: programming, software testing, automation, scripting, 3D mathematics, or LLM training.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
