About the role#
The Department of Parks and Recreation is looking for an Information Technology Intern to provide equipment and application support. This role serves the Athletic and Facility Services and Community Recreation divisions. You will work under the mentorship of senior staff to improve processes and assist with department operations.
What you'll do#
- Support the replacement and distribution of desktops, laptops, and computer peripherals.
- Verify and update asset inventory records.
- Perform data cleanup within the Recreation Management System.
- Generate reports using Microsoft Excel and Power BI to assist department leadership with data analysis.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two years (60 semester hours) in a Bachelor’s degree program.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Ability to obtain or possess a valid driver’s license.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred.
- Experience with configuring Microsoft Windows computers, relational database design, or using Power BI is a plus.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal records and background check.

- Location: 300 N. Park Drive, Arlington, VA 22203.
- Work Modality: Hybrid. This is a part-time position with teleworking options. Flexibility is required to accommodate meetings, evening events, and weekend work as needed.
