About the role#
This is a part-time student worker position in food service at the University of Delaware Perkins location. This role is open to students across various fields of study, including Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Nursing, Nutrition, Human Resources, and Communications. This is a paid position for the Summer 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes and directions.
- Serve food to customers and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Replenish food items and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Properly store food according to established standards.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize workstations including prep tables and service counters.
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Maintain a positive demeanor and provide excellent customer service.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Demonstrated guest service skills.
- Ability to obtain or hold a food safety certification.
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to meet physical demands, which may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear a uniform or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
