About the role#
This is a part-time student worker position in food service at the University of Delaware Perkins location. This role is open to students across various fields of study, including Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Nursing, Nutrition, Human Resources, and Communications.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes and directions.
- Store food items properly according to established standards.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize workstations including prep tables, service counters, and steam tables.
- Serve food to customers and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Replenish food inventory to maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Maintain a positive demeanor and provide customer service to guests and co-workers.
- Adhere to all safety policies, including food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Must hold or be willing to acquire a food safety certification.
- Strong guest service skills.
- Ability to meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear uniforms or Personal Protective Equipment as required.
