About the role#
The Student Worker Lead at UTSA oversees daily food operations. You will manage staff, maintain high standards for food safety, and ensure the facility runs efficiently. This is a paid, on-site, full-time position for the Fall 2026 term. It is open to students majoring in Business Administration, Nursing, Health Administration, or Civil Engineering.
What you'll do#
- Create and manage work schedules for the team.
- Supervise, train, and mentor food service workers to help them grow.
- Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback.
- Keep the workspace safe and free of hazards.
- Track inventory on a weekly basis.
- Direct daily activities and ensure food is prepared and served to specifications.
- Maintain equipment logs and perform preventative maintenance checks.
- Step in for absent staff members when needed.
- Handle occasional catering events during nights and weekends.
- Communicate with staff and attend team meetings.
What you'll need#
- Ability to read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic.
- Knowledge of how to run an efficient, cost-effective program.
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress and resolve interpersonal situations.
- Completion of a sanitation course before or during your first year.
- Current enrollment as a student at the Aramark location.
