About the role#
The Student Worker Lead oversees daily food operations at the University of South Carolina Panera Bread. This position involves managing staff, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring high-quality food service. This is a paid, on-site, full-time role open to students currently enrolled at the location.
What you'll do#
- Supervise, train, and mentor food service employees to promote efficiency and teamwork.
- Manage daily food production, including the preparation and serving of items according to specifications.
- Create and maintain work schedules and production records.
- Maintain accurate weekly inventory and prepare orders as necessary.
- Ensure a safe, sanitary, and hazard-free work environment that complies with health codes.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and keep logs of all repairs.
- Assist with catering events, including occasional nights and weekends.
- Support operations by filling in for absent staff or performing cashier duties when needed.
What you'll need#
- Must be a current student at the Aramark location.
- Ability to read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform basic arithmetic.
- Must complete a sanitation course either before or during the first year of employment.
- Ability to multitask, maintain emotional control under stress, and resolve interpersonal situations.
- Knowledge of operating an efficient, cost-effective program.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Nutrition, Kinesiology, or Psychology.
