About the role#
The Student Worker Lead position involves supervising, training, and managing food operations at the University of South Carolina Panera Bread location. This role focuses on maintaining high standards for food quality, safety, and service while supporting the daily activities of the food service team.
What you'll do#
- Supervise, train, and mentor other food service workers to promote efficiency and teamwork.
- Produce and maintain work schedules and prepare production records.
- Ensure food is prepared and served according to menu specifications and safety policies.
- Maintain a safe, sanitary, and hazard-free working environment.
- Conduct weekly inventory counts and prepare orders to support production needs.
- Manage catering event preparation and delivery schedules.
- Perform equipment maintenance checks and recommend replacements as needed.
- Assist with cashier duties and fill in for absent staff members when necessary.
- Attend staff meetings and maintain clear communication with the management team.
What you'll need#
- Must be a currently enrolled student at the Aramark location.
- Ability to read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform basic arithmetic.
- Must complete a sanitation course either before or during the first year of employment.
- Proficiency in multi-tasking and maintaining emotional control under stress.
- Ability to resolve interpersonal situations and promote positive public relations.
- Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends for catered events.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Nutrition, Kinesiology, or Psychology.
