About the role#
This position is for a student worker at the PMU Market at Purdue. You will work on-site in a retail dining environment. This is a paid, full-time role with rolling start dates. We welcome students from various fields including Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Nutrition, Human Resources, Psychology, and Kinesiology.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items using standardized recipes.
- Store food properly according to safety standards.
- Set up, break down, and sanitize workstations.
- Serve food to customers and ensure they are satisfied.
- Replenish stock and food levels throughout your shift.
- Follow all company safety and sanitation policies.
- Maintain a positive demeanor while interacting with guests and coworkers.
What you'll need#
- Ability to demonstrate guest service skills.
- Willingness to obtain food safety certification if you do not already have it.
- Previous food service experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
