About the role#
This position is for a Student Worker at the Panera location within Purdue Retail Dining. This is a paid, on-site role for the Fall 2026 term. We are open to students from various fields of study, including Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Nutrition, and Human Resources.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes.
- Set up workstations, including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, and steam tables.
- Store food properly according to safety standards.
- Break down, clean, and sanitize workstations.
- Serve food to customers and ensure their needs are met.
- Replenish food items and keep products stocked.
- Maintain a positive demeanor and provide helpful service to guests and co-workers.
- Follow safety policies and protect company assets.
What you'll need#
- Previous food service experience is preferred but not required.
- You must have or be willing to acquire a food safety certification.
- Strong guest service skills.
- Ability to handle physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear a uniform or Personal Protective Equipment if required.
