About the role#
As a Student Worker for Food Service or Catering, you will support campus dining operations. This role involves food preparation, station maintenance, and direct guest service. You will work on-site at Slippery Rock University.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items using standardized recipes.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize workstations like prep tables, service counters, and steam tables.
- Serve food to customers while maintaining a positive and helpful demeanor.
- Keep food items stocked and replenished as needed.
- Store food according to established standards.
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures.
- Protect company assets.
What you'll need#
- Ability to obtain food safety certification.
- Strong guest service skills.
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing or walking for extended periods.
- Willingness to wear a uniform or Personal Protective Equipment if required.
