About the role#
This position supports food service and catering operations on the Shepherd University campus. You will work with a team to manage food preparation and service while gaining experience in customer interaction and safety protocols. This role is open to students across various fields of study, including Business Administration, Nutrition, Civil Engineering, and Communications.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and assemble food items following standardized recipes.
- Set up workstations, prep tables, and service counters.
- Serve food to customers and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Keep food items stocked and replenished at appropriate levels.
- Maintain a positive demeanor while assisting guests and co-workers.
- Clean and sanitize workstations after service.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation policies.
What you'll need#
- Ability to demonstrate guest service skills.
- Willingness to obtain food safety certification.
- Previous food service experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to wear a uniform or use personal protective equipment as required.
