About the role#
This position is for a student worker in Retail Dining at Purdue. You will gain experience in food service operations while working on campus. This is a paid, full time role for the Summer 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items by following standardized recipes and directions.
- Set up workstations, including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, and steam tables.
- Store food properly to meet safety standards.
- Break down, clean, and sanitize workstations.
- Serve food to customers and ensure their needs are met.
- Maintain stock levels and replenish food items as needed.
- Adhere to safety policies, including food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Ability to obtain food safety certification.
- Strong guest service skills.
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Students from majors such as Business Administration, Nutrition, Civil Engineering, Sociology, or Psychology are encouraged to apply.
- The role requires physical activity, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing.
- You may be required to wear a uniform or personal protective equipment.
