About the role#
This position is for a student barista at the Starbucks located in Fondren Library. You will help create a positive experience for customers by preparing beverages and maintaining the store environment. This is a paid, on-site role for the Summer 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and serve coffees, teas, and specialty beverages according to brand standards.
- Operate the register and handle cash or credit card transactions.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace, including setting up and breaking down the coffee bar.
- Stock beverage coolers, service ware, and condiments.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for food and beverage products.
What you'll need#
- Basic math and counting skills.
- Ability to read and communicate in English.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Completion of Food Handling Certification as required.
- Previous customer service or barista experience is preferred but not required.
- This role involves physical tasks like lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
