About the role#
The Student Worker - Barista position involves crafting beverages and providing service in a retail dining setting. This role requires following specific recipes and brand standards while maintaining a clean and safe environment for customers. You will manage transactions and ensure the coffee bar remains stocked and organized.
What you'll do#
- Operate a register and POS system to process cash and credit card transactions.
- Prepare and serve coffees, teas, and specialty beverages according to brand standards.
- Greet customers and assist with their needs.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, including setting up and breaking down stations.
- Stock beverage coolers, grab and go items, service ware, and condiments.
- Count and balance cash drawers and complete necessary documentation.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Basic math and counting skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to read and communicate in English.
- Ability to follow recipes and adhere to dress code requirements.
- Completion of Food Handling Certification as required.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Previous experience in customer service, cash handling, or as a barista is preferred.
