About the role#
This position is for a Student Worker Barista at Purdue. You will prepare beverages and serve food while maintaining the cleanliness of the coffee bar. This is a paid, part-time role for Summer 2026.
What you'll do#
- Operate the register and POS system to process cash and credit card transactions.
- Prepare coffees, teas, and specialty beverages according to brand standards.
- Greet customers and assist them with their needs.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
- Stock beverage coolers, grab and go items, service ware, and condiments.
- Count and balance cash drawers and complete required deposits.
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Basic math and counting skills are required.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to read and communicate in English and follow recipes.
- Ability to complete Food Handling Certification.
- Previous experience in customer service, cash handling, or as a barista is preferred.
- This role involves physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing.
- Students in Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or Psychology are welcome to apply.
