About the role#
This is a paid, full-time student internship based at Tennessee State University. This role focuses on food service operations, catering, and customer service. It is designed for students seeking to develop professional skills in a hands-on environment.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and assemble food items following standardized recipes and instructions.
- Store food products according to established safety and quality standards.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize workstations including prep tables and service counters.
- Serve food to customers, anticipate guest needs, and maintain a positive demeanor.
- Replenish food inventory to ensure appropriate stock levels.
- Follow all safety policies, including food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a student, with a preference for majors in Business Administration, Nutrition, Civil Engineering, or Logistics.
- Ability to obtain or hold a food safety certification.
- Strong guest service skills.
- Previous food service experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing.
- Willingness to wear a uniform or Personal Protective Equipment as required.
