About the role#
The Student Manager supervises and trains staff within the food operation at Sacramento State. You will oversee daily activities to ensure food is prepared and served in the right quantities. This role requires managing food production, safety, and inventory levels while supporting the overall efficiency of the department.
What you'll do#
- Create and maintain work schedules and production records.
- Direct daily operations and ensure food is stored safely.
- Supervise, evaluate, and mentor food service employees to promote teamwork and growth.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment.
- Conduct weekly inventory counts and prepare orders to meet production needs.
- Manage catering event schedules and ensure timely delivery.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and keep maintenance logs.
- Fill in for absent staff and assist with cashier duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a student at the Aramark location.
- Ability to read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic.
- Knowledge of how to run an efficient, cost-effective program.
- Ability to resolve interpersonal situations and maintain emotional control under stress.
- Completion of a sanitation course before or during your first year.
- Availability to work occasional night and weekend catered events.
