About the role#
The Student Manager oversees the daily supervision, training, and management of food operations at California State University, Sacramento. This role requires maintaining high standards for food quality, safety, and operational efficiency while supporting team development.
What you'll do#
- Produce and maintain work schedules and prepare production records.
- Direct daily activities and ensure food is served according to menu specifications.
- Supervise and evaluate employees while promoting growth, morale, and teamwork.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and hazard-free working environment.
- Conduct weekly inventory and prepare orders as needed to support production.
- Train and mentor food service workers and fill in for absent staff when necessary.
- Manage catering event preparations and equipment maintenance logs.
- Perform cashier duties and assist with public relations as needed.
What you'll need#
- Must be a student at the Aramark location.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding verbal instructions.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic and resolve interpersonal situations.
- Must complete a sanitation course before or during the first year.
- Knowledge of operating an efficient, cost-effective program.
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
- Availability to work occasional night and weekend catered events.
- Relevant study areas include Business Administration, Nutrition, Health Administration, Civil Engineering, Psychology, or Communications.
