About the role#
The Student Manager supervises, trains, and manages food operations at California State University, Sacramento. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role with a rolling application window. We are seeking students from majors including Business Administration, Nutrition, Health Administration, Civil Engineering, Psychology, or Communications.
What you'll do#
- Produce and maintain work schedules and prepare production records.
- Direct daily activities and ensure food is prepared and served according to safety and quality standards.
- Supervise and evaluate employees, provide counseling, and promote teamwork and professional growth.
- Maintain accurate weekly inventory and prepare orders to ensure efficient production.
- Manage a safe, sanitary, and hazard-free working environment.
- Train and mentor food service staff and maintain maintenance logs for department equipment.
- Coordinate catering events and perform cashier duties as needed.
- Communicate with staff and attend regular food service meetings.
What you'll need#
- Must be a student at the Aramark location.
- Ability to read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Knowledge of operating an efficient, cost-effective program.
- Ability to resolve interpersonal situations and maintain emotional control under stress.
- Must complete a sanitation course either before or during the first year of employment.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
- Willingness to work occasional night and weekend catered events.
