About the role#
This position is for a Student General Utility Worker at Eastern Kentucky University. This is a paid, full-time internship opportunity for the Summer 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes and directions.
- Store food items in accordance with established safety standards.
- Set up workstations, including prep tables, service counters, and steam tables.
- Break down, clean, and sanitize workstations after use.
- Serve food to customers while ensuring guest satisfaction and anticipating needs.
- Replenish food items and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Adhere to safety policies and ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in Civil Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Nursing.
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to obtain or possess a food safety certification.
- Strong guest service skills and a positive demeanor.
- Ability to meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear uniforms or Personal Protective Equipment as required.
