About the role#
Applied Materials is seeking interns for our Global Supply Chain Department for the summer of 2027. This 12-week program supports our Supplier Account Managers, Procurement Managers, and Supply Chain Analytics teams. You will assist in supplier management, commercial negotiations, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials to our factories.
What you'll do#
- Complete supplier request for quotations (RFQs).
- Create, re-schedule, and cancel purchase orders per MRP requirements.
- Resolve Accounts Payable issues regarding PO invoice and receipt discrepancies.
- Mitigate excess purchase orders and inventory through supplier negotiations.
- Perform MRP and spend analytics to identify opportunities for business process optimization.
- Interact with suppliers to discuss cost reduction opportunities and material status.
- Prepare supplier profiles and support quarterly business reviews.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or Logistics.
- A preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
- Strong data analytics skills, including advanced Excel and experience working with multiple data sets.
- Ability to problem-solve creatively and analytically.
- Valid work authorization for the duration of the internship. Please note that we do not offer visa sponsorship for this role.

- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Santa Clara, California.
- The internship term is Summer 2027.
