About the role#
This is a project-based internship. You will own a core technical project from start to finish. You will gain hands-on experience and present your work to technical leadership at the end of the program.
What you'll do#
- Take ownership of a dedicated 12-week project.
- Manage project timelines.
- Deliver a final technical report and presentation.
- Clean, analyze, and model complex datasets related to mining, mobile fleet, or process plant metrics.
- Engage stakeholders to validate data and models.
- Set data-driven performance targets and garner mine-site support.
- Guide mine-site personnel through project ideation and planning.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a rising senior in an Undergraduate program or a final-year Master's student.
- Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Foundational knowledge of the Global Industry Standard for Tailings Management (GISTM) and TSF operational best practices.
- Familiarity with the basic principles of Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) design and construction.
- Academic or practical understanding of soil mechanics and how to assess structural stability.
- Strong commitment to safety standards, TSF governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent technical writing, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to analyze datasets, draw logical conclusions, and present findings clearly.
- Collaborative mindset with an eagerness to learn and ask questions.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel to project sites if necessary.

- Location: Greenwood Village, Colorado.
- Work modality: Hybrid.
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $27/hour for Undergraduate interns; $35/hour for Graduate interns.
- Paid internship.
