About the role#
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Observability team. This is a part-time, work-study role for active graduate students. You will help build and maintain the tools that monitor our site and resolve incidents. You will focus on developing automated migration tools for OpenTelemetry-based platforms and contribute to infrastructure operations.
What you'll do#
- Build AI-powered code transformation tools to migrate application instrumentation to OpenTelemetry.
- Develop intelligent parsing and analysis engines using AI agents to transform APM instrumentation code.
- Design and implement LLM-driven tools to migrate observability dashboards.
- Create automation for migrating alerting policies and escalation workflows.
- Support observability operations, including log PII detection and infrastructure monitoring.
What you'll need#
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong development experience in Python.
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants like Cline, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.
- Full-stack development exposure using JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
- Experience with AWS Cloud services and containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

- This role is based in Draper, Utah.
- We support remote, on-site, and hybrid work arrangements.
- This is a part-time position requiring a commitment of 20 hours per week for 6 months.
