About the role#
Analytical Mechanics Associates is hiring a part-time intern to support research on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis with hybrid mesh adaptation for high-speed configurations. This work takes place at NASA Langley Research Center. You will investigate multifidelity computational models to improve the analysis and design of hypersonic vehicles, specifically focusing on the prediction of aerothermal loads and fluid-thermal-structural interactions.
What you'll do#
- Assist with research on CFD analysis and hybrid mesh adaptation.
- Explore multifidelity computational models for aerothermodynamic analysis.
- Apply these models to relevant hypersonic configurations.
What you'll need#
- A basic understanding of computational fluid dynamics.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Matlab, C/C++, or Fortran.
- Experience with large scale CFD solvers is a plus.
- You must be a US Person to qualify for this position.
- Current pursuit of a degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

- This role is based on-site in Hampton, Virginia.
- The position is part-time.
- This is a paid internship with a salary range of $25 to $27.69 per hour.
