About the role#
As a Summer Associate, you will join our Health Care practice to work on complex business problems within a collaborative environment. You will work on multiple projects simultaneously, playing a critical role in driving the research, analysis, and strategy for our clients. This internship provides exposure to the life sciences industry and offers an evaluation for a full-time associate position upon completion.
What you'll do#
- Identify, design, and implement rigorous research methodologies.
- Conduct cost-effectiveness, budget impact, and burden-of-illness analyses.
- Support health economic modeling using tools such as R, SAS, and Stata.
- Program and prepare databases while performing exploratory data analyses with visualizations.
- Work with healthcare data including EHRs, insurance claims, clinical trial datasets, registries, and survey data.
- Design data collection forms and protocols for chart reviews.
- Implement prospective data collection efforts through surveys and in-depth interviews.
- Conduct targeted and systematic literature reviews.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of internal and external presentations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external thought leaders to produce conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications.
- Support client submissions to regulatory bodies.
- Assist in proposal development, prepare capabilities presentations, and contribute to client pitches.
- Collaborate with colleagues at all levels across offices.
What you'll need#
- An in-progress graduate degree in biostatistics, environmental health, epidemiology, health economics, health policy, mathematics, public health, statistics, or related quantitative fields.
- A Ph.D. in progress (3rd or 4th year preferred) or an MBA, MBA/MPH, or MS in progress with at least 4 years of experience applying quantitative methods to real-world research problems in the health care industry or market access consulting.
- Strong quantitative and research skills with demonstrated expertise in health economics, biostatistics, epidemiology, or statistics.
- Familiarity with AI tools.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex analytical problems.
- Proficiency in at least one statistical programming language such as R, SAS, or Stata.
- Familiarity with healthcare data types including claims, EHRs, registries, or clinical trial data.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong academic record.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and an inclusive, growth-oriented mindset.
