About the role#
As an Associate Intern, you will work on complex business problems within a collaborative environment. You will support multiple projects simultaneously, playing a central role in driving the research, analysis, and strategy for our clients. This internship provides exposure to the life sciences industry, including work with biopharmaceuticals, biotech, and device manufacturers.
What you'll do#
- Identify, design, and implement rigorous research methodologies.
- Conduct cost-effectiveness, budget impact, and burden-of-illness analyses.
- Support health economic modeling and perform exploratory data analyses with visualizations.
- Program and prepare databases using R, SAS, or Stata.
- Work with healthcare data including electronic health records, insurance claims, clinical trial datasets, registries, and survey data.
- Design data collection forms and protocols for chart reviews.
- Implement prospective data collection through surveys and in-depth interviews.
- Conduct targeted and systematic literature reviews.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of internal and external presentations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external thought leaders for publications.
- Support client submissions to regulatory bodies and assist in proposal development and client pitches.
- Collaborate with colleagues at all levels and across offices.
What you'll need#
- An in-progress graduate degree in biostatistics, environmental health, epidemiology, health economics, health policy, mathematics, public health, statistics, or related quantitative fields.
- A Ph.D. in progress (3rd or 4th year preferred) or an MBA, MBA/MPH, or MS in progress.
- At least 4 years of experience applying quantitative methods to real-world research problems in the health care industry or market access/consulting.
- Strong quantitative and research skills with expertise in health economics, biostatistics, epidemiology, or statistics.
- Familiarity with AI tools.
- Proficiency in at least one statistical programming language (R, SAS, or Stata).
- Familiarity with healthcare data types such as claims, electronic health records, registries, or clinical trial data.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- A strong academic record and demonstrated interpersonal skills.
- Lawful authorization to work in Canada.
