About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will support the design, development, and testing of cloud-native applications. You will work with engineering teams to build secure, scalable solutions while gaining hands-on experience in full-stack development and enterprise application delivery. This role involves assisting with cloud migration and application modernization initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Java and modern web technologies.
- Build RESTful APIs and microservices with Java and Spring Boot.
- Create responsive user interfaces using frameworks like Angular or React.
- Support cloud-native application development and deployment on AWS.
- Participate in application modernization and migration projects.
- Develop system integrations and API-based solutions across enterprise platforms.
- Write clean, maintainable, and secure code while participating in code reviews.
- Assist with automated testing, deployment, and release management tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited degree program for Engineering, Computer Science, or Management & Information Systems.
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies or sophomore status.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
- Experience with AWS services.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
- Prior experience with web frameworks like Java, Spring Boot, or Python.
- Coursework or projects related to cloud computing or data science.

- Location: Washington, DC.
- Term: Fall 2026 and Winter 2027.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $18.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on school year and program of study.
- Benefits: Includes Amtrak rail pass privileges and one PTO day per academic year.
