About the role#
AMT Engineering is hiring a Transportation Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Columbus, Ohio. You will work under the supervision of project managers and team leaders to support our transportation engineering projects. This role offers the potential to transition into a full-time junior engineer position after you graduate.
What you'll do#
- Support project tasks like cost estimates, research, procurement, and regulatory reviews.
- Manage, enter, and present project data.
- Help prepare reports, plans, and specifications for our clients.
- Participate in field assignments as needed.
- Collaborate with mentors, teammates, and leadership to complete related duties.
What you'll need#
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You are pursuing a Bachelor or Associates degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
- You maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- You possess solid technical and problem-solving skills with clear verbal and written communication.
- You are a self-motivated, detail-oriented person who is ready to learn.
- Experience with engineering software like AutoCAD, MathCAD, or Bentley Microstation is preferred.
