About the role#
AMT Engineering is hiring a Structural Engineer Intern for our Columbus, Ohio office. This is a paid, full-time position for the Summer 2027 term. You will work under the supervision of project managers and team leaders, with support from mentors and colleagues. This role has the potential to transition into a full-time junior engineer position after you graduate.
What you'll do#
- Support project tasks such as regulatory reviews, cost estimates, research, and procurement.
- Handle data entry, management, evaluation, and presentation.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, plans, and specifications for clients.
- Participate in field assignments as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
What you'll need#
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You are pursuing a Bachelor or Associates degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.
- You hold a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- You possess solid technical and problem-solving abilities.
- You are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and ready to learn.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with engineering software like AutoCAD, MathCAD, or Bentley Microstation is preferred.
