About the role#
AMT Engineering is hiring a Structural Engineer Intern for our Pittsburgh office during the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, paid position running from May through August. You will work alongside project managers and team leaders to support our engineering staff. This role offers the potential to transition into a full-time junior engineer position after you graduate.
What you'll do#
- Support project tasks like cost estimates, research, procurement, and regulatory reviews.
- Manage, enter, and evaluate project data for presentations.
- Help prepare reports, plans, and specifications for our clients.
- Participate in field assignments as needed.
- Collaborate with mentors and teammates who will support your daily work.
What you'll need#
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor or Associate degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- You maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- You are a self-motivated and detail-oriented person who is ready to learn.
- Experience with engineering software like AutoCAD, MathCAD, or Bentley Microstation is a plus, though not required.
