About the role#
AMT Engineering is seeking a Civil Engineer Intern to join the team in Towson, Maryland for the Summer 2027 term. This is a paid, full-time position with an anticipated duration from May through August 2027. You will work within the Transportation, Water, Wastewater, and Construction Management groups under the supervision of experienced engineering staff. This role offers the potential to transition into a full-time Junior Engineer position upon graduation.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project tasks such as research, cost estimates, procurement support, and regulatory reviews.
- Manage, enter, evaluate, and present project data.
- Help prepare reports, plans, and specifications for clients.
- Participate in field assignments as needed.
- Collaborate with and receive support from leaders, mentors, and teammates.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor or Associates degree program in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid technical and problem-solving abilities.
- A self-motivated and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Experience with engineering software like AutoCAD, MathCAD, or Bentley Microstation is preferred.
