About the role#
AMT Engineering is looking for a Structural Engineer Intern to join the team in Charleston, South Carolina. This is a paid, full-time position for the summer of 2027. You will work under the supervision of project managers and team leaders to support ongoing engineering projects. This role offers the potential to transition into a full-time junior engineer position after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project tasks like regulatory reviews, cost estimates, research, and procurement support.
- Manage, evaluate, and present project data.
- Help prepare reports, plans, and specifications for clients.
- Participate in field assignments when required.
- Handle other related duties as the team needs.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Associates degree program for Civil or Structural Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A self-motivated and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Experience with engineering software such as AutoCAD, MathCAD, or Bentley Microstation is preferred.

- This internship is located on-site in Charleston, South Carolina.
- The term runs from May through August 2027.
