About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within Amgen's Technology and Medical organizations. You will work with architects, business subject matter experts, and data scientists to design and develop data solutions. This is a full-time, paid position based in the United States, operating on a remote basis for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop end-to-end data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data into the Enterprise Data Lake.
- Build new infrastructure and analytics tools using Python, SQL, and AWS.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate tasks.
- Develop reusable frameworks.
- Participate in the design and development of rapid Proof-of-Concept solutions and services.
- Support existing infrastructure.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program with a 3.0 minimum GPA.
- Completion of at least one year of study prior to the internship and continued enrollment afterward.
- Proficiency in at least one coding language: Python, Java, Scala, or SQL.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A degree concentration in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Coursework in areas such as business systems analysis, agile processes, software development, database modeling, cloud-based applications, or enterprise systems.
- Strong project management, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate independently and show personal initiative.
- Must be 18 years or older and located in the United States.
- Prior experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or health care industries is preferred.

- Compensation: $28.87 per hour.
- Sponsorship: Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. for the duration of the program. Sponsorship for future full-time roles is not guaranteed.
