About the role#
The Global Merchant & Network Pricing team manages the primary revenue source for American Express. This internship focuses on merchant discount revenue, working to balance merchant acceptance with company profitability. You will support strategic initiatives and provide data-driven recommendations to help shape pricing structures.
What you'll do#
- Develop actionable insights and provide analytical support for strategic merchant pricing initiatives.
- Create pricing approaches based on quantitative data analysis.
- Use internal and external data, competitive intelligence, and industry research to inform pricing strategies.
- Evaluate business cases for merchant pricing scenarios, model P&L impacts, and perform sensitivity analyses.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time Master’s degree program, with an MBA preferred.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in strategy, consulting, finance, analytics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen, including proficiency in Excel for financial modeling and sensitivity analysis.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Academic background in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting.
