About the role#
The Network O&S Internship supports the Missile Defense Agency on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions contract. This is a full-time, paid internship lasting approximately six months. You will work on-site at either Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs or Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville. This role requires working night shift hours to support network maintenance windows.
What you'll do#
- Assist with Cisco IOS router and switch upgrades, rollbacks, and troubleshooting.
- Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance, bandwidth usage, and system alerts.
- Perform physical device installations, patch cables, and audit server rack diagrams.
- Document network topology maps, IP address allocations, and inventory lists.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from an accredited associate or bachelor degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field with at least sophomore-level standing.
- A current DoD IAT Level II certification, such as CompTIA Security+ CE.
- Academic or lab exposure to the Cisco Command Line Interface.
- A basic understanding of TCP/IP protocols, subnetting, DNS, and DHCP.
- Ability to document technical steps and follow standard operating procedures.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- One year of general full-time work experience (this may be reduced through advanced education).

- Compensation: $20.67 per hour.
- Travel: Up to 10%.
